[Translation.]
W. Tamihana to the Hon. Mr. Dillon Bell.
To Mr. Bell,—
Peria, 26th March, 1863.Salutations, friend. I have seen your letter of the 17th March, telling me of your going to Taranaki. That talk, O friend, is very good—that is, what you have said to the Ngatiawa; and it was very good of you to write and tell me the news from that place. Friend, my heart is very dark because of the doings of the Waikatos.
Enough. Good-bye.
From your friend,
W. Tamihana.
