Table

page 23

Table.

Five Main Evils. A.—Men thrown out of work by machines. B—Big ruin small. C.—Over-production. D & E.—Underpayment and waste of labour. These evils result from bad organisation of instruments of production, not from laws of nature. If instruments well organised, evils A,B,C,D,E disappear, and great material and moral benefits accrue besides. Socialism proves that good organisation impossible until instruments become national property, salaries remaining private property. Confiscation and revolution unnecessary. Really Democratic State. J. S. Mill on conquests and bad laws. Difference between national and private property. No destruction of property. Proofs—theory, practicability, justice of Socialism.
