Entertainments.
Sir,—I am quite in sympathy with the "Governor's" letter respecting the boys giving entertainments amongst themselves. We found by experience this winter that our women were much happier when they were invited to entertain others as well as be entertained themselves. They selected their own pieces and brought them for our sanction before learning them, and when the time came for the evening's recreation our visitors went away pleased and edified, and the girls had the happy sensation of having been able to give pleasure as well as to receive it.
