The hard-working members of the House are not to be judged by their long speeches and by their many questions to Ministers. Within the four walls of the committee room the bulk of the hard "graft" of Parliament is carried out. The outside world does not know of it, and modesty forbids these hard-working Committee members from proclaiming to the public the time and the energy they put into committee work.
