Both soil and climate are well adapted for the production of butter and cheese, and hence we find creameries and butter factories increasing in number very considerably each year, arid the export constantly augmenting.
Eighteen butter-and cheese-factories were returned in April, 1896, as at work in the Wellington Provincial District.
