The Pamphlet Collection of Sir Robert Stout: Volume 75
Climate
Climate.
The climate is generally of a mild character, and, though hot along the coast lands in the height of summer, it is, owing to the dryness of the atmosphere, not as page 37 relaxing as in parts of the island farther north. The rainfall is light, excepting in the bush districts and high inland country.
Napier itself is recommended by many medical men as a resort for invalids suffering from pulmonary complaints, chiefly on account of the mildness of its winter season.
