Chapter XXVIII.—The Degree of Doctor of Medicine.

I.Candidates for the degree of Doctor of Medicine shall not be less than twenty-four years of age. They must have obtained the degree of Bachelor of Medicine at least two years previously, and must have been engaged during the interval in the practice or study of their profession.
II.Candidates must send in for approval a thesis on some subject belonging to the medical curriculum.
III.Candidates shall also be examined, both in writing and orally, on any one of the following groups of subjects they may choose:—
1.Anatomy and Physiology.
2.Surgery and Anatomy.page 113
3.Medicine and Pathology.
4.Public Health and Medical Jurisprudence.
IV.The thesis, and notification of the subjects which the candidate chooses for examination, must be forwarded to the Registrar three months before the examination, which will be held in November of each year.
V.The fee for the examination for the degree of Doctor of Medicine shall be one guinea.
