Every Elector, irrespective of politics, was entitled to receive a ticket of admission to this or one of the other Midlothian Meetings, and at the Music Hall upwards of one thousand availed themselves of the privilege. The character of the majority of the parishes embraced in the Edinburgh district of the county may rather be described as suburban than as rural.
