One pound lentils | 2 |
Wash and strain off the water; then soak in water for twelve hours, put into a pan, and boil for two hours. Soak half pound Indian meal | 0½ |
For twelve hours. Half pound pot barley |

Add an onion chopped very small | 0½ |
Butter or salad oil | 0½ |
Mix a table-spoonful of flour, adding Pepper and Salt | 0½ |
Then boil all together. Eat with Brown bread | 1 |
