The special reporter of The Argus submits to the public the following letters illustrative of the working of the 42nd Clause of the Amending Land Act of 1865, introduced to Parliament by the Hon. J. M. Grant. He does so in accordance with a very generally expressed wish that his reports should be published in a form more compact and more easy of reference than that in which they originally appeared.
