Remedies.
Heavy rollings to make the land firm round the roots of corn plants, with or without dressings of artificial manure, should be tried. In grass land frequent rolling must be tried, and watering with liquid manure, or with gas liquor mixed with water in the proportion of one tenth of liquor to nine tenths of water. Watering with strong decoctions of quassia would be useful and folding the land with sheep.
