48. In construing these Rules, every word importing the singular number shall, whan necessary, be understood to mean several persons or things as well as one person or thing, and every word importing the masculine gender shall, when necessary, be understood to mean a female as well as a male; and when the words "month" and "monthly" are used they shall be understood to mean a lunar, and not a calendar mouth.
