Victoria '65 Supplement to Salient, Vol. 28, No. 1. 1965.
[introduction]
It probably would not be incorrect to say that sub-committees produce the ideas of the Association.
Any student may belong to any sub-committee, conditional on his appointment being confirmed by the Executive, and a couple of hundred students do. Applications for sub-committee membership are normally called for in the middle of the year when new committee chairmen are appointed from the incoming executive, but students can and do join the sub-committee during their term of office. Any student wishing to join a sub-committee at the beginning of 1965 should hand into the Association office a written application stating the committee he wishes to join, his name and his address.
Normally a copy of the next agenda will be forwarded and on attending that meeting his appointment to the committee will be recommended to Executive.
This year most committees have a fairly strong membership and one or two have almost become the end product of Parkinson's Law. Particularly popular committees have been House, Cultural Affairs and Public Relations.
The following sub-committees currently exist, and may be contacted through the chairmen mentioned.
