Treasurer

Treasurer

P. McCaw

A Qualified accountant completing his S.Com. Degree this year. He is President of Weir House and Secretary of the Cricket Club, while he has also served on the committer of the Rugby Football Club.

During the recent Easter Tournament he served as Cricket Comptroller.

This year he gained his N.Z.U. Blue in Cricket, while he was a V.U.C. Blue in 1950-51.

Recently he filled the vacancy on the Executive caused by the departure of P. Cotton.

In sporting matters he is very keen to see an improvement in the facilities for sport generally in the College, while he is also interested in all matters affecting the welfare of students residing in College Hostels.

Nominator: B. D. Mercer.

Cliff Terry

Cliff, a qualified accountant, is at present studying for B.A. part-time. A member of the Tennis Club, and may be seen at most debates.

Other interests include Historical Society, down-town Economic Society. Drama, etc.

Cliff is opposed to any further increases in Student Assn. and Examination Fees, and this end will work for N.Z.U. representation on the Senate.

With the present buoyant state of the national economy he believes that the time is both overdue and opportune to press for increased and value of bursaries and greater government grants to all Universities.

He favours a Common Common Room in fact rather than in name, and wants an immediate start to the new Student Assn. Building.

Supports retention of Winter Tournament which he believes should include Drama, Debating, etc. Favours extension of Hostel accommodation, and use of Health Department's voluntary X-ray scheme as a first step towards a medical scheme.

As a mature, tolerant accountant, not tied to any pressure group, Cliff is the logical choice for Treasurer.

Nominator: Bruce Mercer.
