Jim Mutch

A part-time arts student Jim is usually seen and heard at debates; this year he in secretary of the Debating Society and in on the committees of the Political Science Society and the I.S.S. he in also on the Congress Publicity Committee, takes part in Extravs and in an active member of the Swords and Defence and Miniature Rifle Clubs.

Jim considers it appropriate that students take a lively and intelligent interest in civic and political affairs without prejudicing the best interests of the student body and the college.

He in an enthusiastic supporter of the proposed new Students Union Building and will move heaven and earth to get the site prepared so that building operations can be commenced soon.

The present training facilities for sports clubs particularly Jim considers grossly inadequate, and so encouragement of the sporting and cultural clubs through the grants system and otherwise together with improved hostel accommodation are included in the programme he will work for.
