Maurice O'Brien

Maurice is a 4th year part-time Law student. He has been Political Science Society Secretary, Debating Society Treasurer and Extravaganza House Manager among other offices held. He won the New Speakers' and Union Debating Prizes in 1948, and has represented Victoria at Debating against the Australian Universities and at Joynt Scroll.

If elected, Maurice will endeavour to serve the best interests of the student body pursuing the following policy:

1.	Speedy implementation of the Student Union Building Scheme.
2.	Appointment of Cafeteria Management Committee.
3.	Investigation of future use of Building Fund Levy.
4.	Reporting major policy decisions (e.g. common common-room) to the students before implementation.
5.	Expansion of Congress and student Exchange schemes.
6.	Maintenance of relations with all organisations having a genuine interest in peace, and opposition to affiliation with partisans of any bloc working to undermine our way of life.
7.	A better public relations policy.
