Office picketed

The eight women are now picketing the premises (another is staying home and has resolved not to cross the picket line) from 8.00am to 2.00pm in three shifts. One of the picketers is pregnant and must sit on a chair while she pickets.

The Monday after the women went on strike Sullivan sacked them, saying he considered the women had abandoned their employment. Again, he has refused to negotiate on the matter.

What this means is that the women, one of whom has worked there for two years, have been sacked for using the only avenue they have to protest the company illegally ripping them off.
