[Introduction]
On Tuesday night the VUWSA Executive had one of its frequent meetings. Although nothing earth-shattering occurred, the much depleted Executive was able to deal with a large number of Items without any significant arguing or bloodletting. After dealing with fees exemptions the Executive was informed of the $22,000 profit made by the Victoria Book Company, only to be saddened at the loss made by the Victoria Catering Company. The expectation Is that catering will however make a small profit in 1981.
The Victoria Club was given approval to recommence operations. Although the new venue is (unfortunately) the Cafe, the organisers will hopefully be able to provide a salubrious atmosphere.
Orientation appears to have kept to budget with over 1,300 cards being sold. It was generally agreed that Orientation had been a success, although the budgeting for such events needs to be tightened up in future.
