[unclear: 1] What Magistrates do — A videotape presentation which consists of an interview of a Wellington Magistrate, A. B. Beatson Esq., SM, with Professor Geoffrey Palmer. Mr Beatson is a law graduate from Victoria and practised law in Nelson before going on the bench. The programme will be introduced by a senior member of the Faculty, Mr H. A. Hollmrake, who has had more than twenty years' trial experience in Canada (Law).

11.00 The Lawyer in Court. A video-tape presentation which consists of a lecture by Wellington barrister, B. E. Buckton, a graduate in law from Victoria. The lecture will be introduced by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof K. J. Keith (Law).
12.00 Air pollution and monitoring in Upper Hutt — Mr J. Salinger and Mr B W. Imrie (Geography and UTRC).
1.00 Panel Discussion: Back to Basics, or the new mathematics? — Lindsay Johnston will introduce a panel discussion on some current issues in school mathematics.
2.00 Elements of a University Timetable — a look, with videotape, at the Lecture, Laboratory and the Tutorial with Mr B. W. Imrie and Mr J. Burgess.
3.00 Women Issues: a panel discussion and open debate on employment, education, child-care, sex roles, family law etc. (2 hour programme).
5.00 Statistics in the Social Sciences. Ross Renner, the University Biometrician will discuss some of the problems regarding the use and misuse of statistical tools.

Victoria Book Centre: a book stall. (The Book Centre at 15 Mount Street, will be open till 5.30pm on Friday and from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday).

Display: on the School of Architecture.

Photographic Display: Historic photographs of the University.

VUW Rescue Unit Display: A photographic display of the University's Rescue Team in action, together with a selection of the Unit's equipment. The Civil Defence and Safety Officer, the Rescue Officer and members of the Unit will be in attendance to discuss the Unit's work.

Mass Spectrometer (Chemistry): This instrument will be on display in the room behind LB1.
