New Zealand Students' Arts Festival — Christchurch May 5—12 1979

New Zealand Students' Arts Festival — Christchurch May 5—12 1979.

The New Zealand Students' Arts Festival officially opens on the 6th May, with a large public day on the 38 acre university playing grounds. There will be a huge range of entertainments for families and festival goers, including pipe bands, magicians, rock music, sky divers, acrobats, poets, drama etc.

One of the highlights will be a three band rock concert in the Auditorium of the Christchurch Town Hall, using Citizen Band, Schtung and an overseas act. This concert will be filmed by TV2.

In addition, the programme includes two film festivals, two operas, a classical concert series, a jazz concert and a dance festival. To ensure that the festival is a tremendous success, there must be as many as possible to create an atmosphere of sponteneity and creativity.

So please, if you think you have something to offer, come and see me or any member of the Executive. As far as funding is concerned, we can pay part of the transport costs involved in taking a show to Christchurch.
