Festival of Useless Spaces

The Festival of Useless Spaces promises to be a bonanza of visual, dramatic and sonic happenings. These may include a pagent of Popes, the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet and Ballroom dancing, Jaffa rolling, russian poetry and mazes.

The object is to make use of the useless spaces around the university, such as the foyers, stairways and balconies in such a way as to change from useless spaces to outrageous.

Details of the festival will be posted around the university and will be available from the Students' Association Office.

Don't miss it, it promises to be spectacular.

Drinking Horn and Chunder Mile

These events have become a tradition at Victoria and are a good occasion to let your hair down and get into some serious piss-sinking. The events include 7 oz events, jug events and boat races (get your own team together). Notable features of past years include watching the the performance of the NZ Champ Vic. Women's Drinking Team (see such stars as Motormower, Mick, 'Massive' Massof et al), the antics of the MC, shaving cream fights and Mac's brown-eyes.

This year invitations have been sent to dignitaries such as Muldoon (his drinking hand has recovered for the gin slinging race), Fwank Gill, Carmen, Fowler and Bill McCarthy. If you compete the beer is free so organize a team.

The Chunder Mile always draws a large appreciative crowd - it's always good to watch someone heave their guts out in a technicolour yawn. Bring along some ammunition and hiff it at the competitors (like eggs, flour bombs, rotten fruit), mushed up Salient (who said that — Ed.)

Keep your end up Victoria!!
