Fourteen returns received out of a possible twenty seven. There was general satisfaction with the course, especially with the emphasis on tutorials. Recommendations :

1.	Playwrights more recent than Pinter should be covered.
2.	The number of plays per playwright should be reduced.
3.	The films are not good, but some people made the point that seeing a production is a help.
4.	The workshops could be better organised.
5.	Further emphasis should be given to the general nature of modern drama.
6.	The extra untimetabled hour on Mondays is frustrating for those with other commitments.
7.	There should be fewer lectures.
8.	Half of the replies registered satisfaction with the assessment, but the others suggested that 30% per essay is too high.
9.	As a first half course it should be examined at mid-year.
10.	Some people would like the course to be a full year one.
11.	Tighter control by the tutors in tutorials is required. There is no particular criticism of lectures.
