Wallace Rowling

Wallace Rowling

Hey Wallace Rowling won't you make a speech for me,
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to.
Hey Wallace Rowling you can make a speech for me,
Just as long as you're not thinking you can con a vote from me.

Though I know the Muldoon Government hasn't served us very well,
With the prices all to hell
And the bursaries standing still
And the inflation creeping higher by the hour,
I can still recall two years ago
When things were much the same
There was just another name
Of the flunkies who support the bourgeois system.

Hey, Wallace Rowling can you make a speech for me
I'm not sleepy and there is no place I'm going to,
Hey, Wallace Rowling don't you know the laugh's on me
If I kid myself you've really got an answer.

Now I know you like to tell us that Muldoon's got to go
Tell us something we don't know !
If you got to run the show
Could you really pull New Zealand from the crisis ?
Or would you keep on borrowing
The way you did before
Or perhaps a little more
Or just pass the buck to one more Royal Commission ?

Hey Wallace Rowling you can make a speech for me
I might just as well get something for my taxes,
Hey Wallace Rowling you can make a speech for me
Well do anything up here for entertainment.

Can you tell me Wallace Rowling
Just what difference it would make
If we gave your mob a break
If we voted Tweedle Bill back into office
Muldoon has cutback students coming here from overseas
Can you tell us if you're pleased
To see your Policies put into action ?
