"Young Citizens Award"

A national competition has been mounted by the NZ Returned Services' Association for a Young Citizens Award.

Focal point of the competition, open to New Zealanders aged 17 to 20 inclusive, is the provision of a handwritten statement, of no more than 750 words, giving "an answer to the question: 'How can New Zealand make the most effective contribution to world peace?'".

The national winner get $600, the runner up $400, and the two best entries from Wellington get $50.
