This week is Apartheid Week, in which the Students' Association will reflect on the injustices suffered by the 20 million South African blacks and other oppressed sectors of South African society, and act to support them in their struggle for liberation.

Action on behalf of the oppressed in South Africa can take many forms but New Zealanders in 1976 have been presented with a unique opportunity to show on which side of the fence they stand.

This year is the year of the All Black rugby tour to South Africa - a tour which many New Zealanders find themselves unable to support because of the stand it takes (consciously or unconsciously) on behalf of the South African oppressors.

There are activities on throughout the week to inform people on the South African situation, all culminating in a demonstration from Hunter lawn at 6pm on Friday.
