Hart Supporter Slates Heath

Hart Supporter Slates Heath

Dear Sir,

I view with wonder the fantastic arrogance with which the self-appointed apostle, D. Heath signed his letter "on behalf of thousands".

I am waiting for him to defeat the sick apathy which is a trademark of your average (usually particularly average) Heath by applying himself to the organisational work that it takes to start a successful Varsity Club like Hart, and present to me a Heath-Club membership roll running into the thousands he so boldly assumes are behind him.

Until this unlikely event transpires, however, I am bound to point out that D. Heath speaks on behalf of little but his own ethical egoism and that looking at his letter it appears unlikely that he will every be elected spokesman for anything of greater calibre than his own brain - obviously an object of very dubious value.

I wonder why it is that people who are prepared to care about a viciously oppressed race of intelligent humans (yes, Heath!) and motivated by beliefs they know to be humane and right, are prepared to organise themselves, give up their time, work hard, and put up with continual 'bombardment by illi-selves, give up their time, work hard, and put variety.

Whereas Heath and his cohorts, if he has any, just sit on their bums and gripe.

If you think its so important to have been to S.A. then why don't you go there before infecting Salient with your inane pilfle.

How on earth can you seriously write a letter based so completely upon apathy and frivolity, telling the world what the majority of the varsity thinks;'

I am of the very strong opinion that well over half the varsity supports Hart and until. D. Heath is willing to do enough work to prove otherwise I'll thank him to spare me his wishy-washy literary miseries.

Mr Heath, where is your support? Give me names. Do some voluntary work for a change and go and find them, these elusive thousands.

D. Heath takes great pains to point out that he didn't make darts of our handout. One assumes that he didn't know how,

J.H Scott.
