'Mindless Individual' Re-Emerges from Woodwork
Dear Sir,
I believe that there are two sides to every argument and both have a right to be heard with equal respect shown for each party. I was therefore enraged to read the letter from Lisa Sacksen in your last issue.
I do not oppose her holding and stating her particular stand on the issue of sporting contacts with S.A. and a referendum, but I do take strong exception of her last comment. She says that she hopes she has, 'stemmed the tide of mindless individuals', who feel differently to her.
The last words are not hers but my summation of her statement. Is this the thinking of the students association?
I for one feel differently on the issue and I deeply resent being labelled a 'mindless individual'. I gave considerable thought to the subject before arriving at my present stand, but because I hold that stance I don't condem anyone who differs as being mindless.
I don't doubt their sincerity or reasons for holding their view so please show equal respect.
Yours,
Ic Boc It.
