SALIENT NOTES

Hitherto Salient notes have made the payments seem less than bizaare a mixture of curry and karma John Henderson bearing strange fruit; but Pat O'Dea (repeated 500 times, still doesn't make any sense) and the artful dodger Gyles Beckford dug into Fagin's pocket and pulled out Mike Stephens looking like one of his own graphics; Gerald Van Bohemen took his Van and left the rest behind, although he did 'deliver' this Salient which explains why it's so full of shit.

Sun streaming on the cemetery, whence arose this hollow-eyed crew (the boy stood on the burning epigram): Leigh Thomson rattled his icon, Mark Sainsbury lifted the top of the tomb and Judith Ting plunged a wooden stake through the bleeding heart of Anthony Ward. Gerard Couper Gerard Couper Gerard Couper (missed out on two Salient notes in a row - doesn't know what it is to be a lucky mini-couper), Lindy Cassidy, Leonie Morris, Lionel Klee and Lynn Perk all start with 'L' which is a good reason to corral them (they'll probably end in 'ell too!).

So much for Ben Smith (now theres an appropriate name) but our kindest regards and I hope they wither to David Murray (reviews editor), Don Carson, Patrick Mulrennan, David Tripe who's oh so easy to forget. Robert Pui, Petra Van den Munckhof who missed out last week (is it any wonder - I can only spell that once a fortnight). Colin Feslier appeared from last year, which is why I'm glad its 1976.

Pat Bartle's typesetter (it's a clean machine) deeps up a steady conversation with insanity two doors along. Dun Mihaka just marched through doing a slow waltz, a false Mike Freeman (purely for the sake of the rhyme, Mike) and Angela Belich hopped through a window.

'Slack Mac' is really quite cuddly though he's a bit of a kaleidoscope for the old eternal reason, Noel Yekstort and James Robb actually discovered America before Eric the drunk and Rose Desmond climbed the Himalayas, or she would if they weren't so high. Oh and I forgot to mention Rachel Scott.

John Ryall is a wonderful fellow and a super editor (oh thanks John that'll tide me over till the bursary comes?????). And thus ends Salient notes which will probably never get printed they're so obscure.

And just before I go, in has walked Barbara McElwee on the back of her big black dog (named Johann Sebastian Bach), trailed behind by Penny Booth (in her little yellow Salient taxi) and Patsy Phelps (riding her big bright telephone machine).
