Chairmanship Of Nzusa Women's Rights Committee

Chairmanship Of Nzusa Women's Rights Committee

NZUSA National Executive is calling for applications for the position of Chairman of the NZUSA Women's Rights Committee. The Position is an honorary part-time one.

The Women's Rights Committee is responsible for actioning NZUSA's Women's Rights Policy, and the Chairman's role is to co-ordinate its work. Last year (when it called the Committee on International Women's Year) it was particularly active in the area of equal pay and in seeking out anomalies and possible injustices in the way in which students' associations around the country treat their women employees. One of its other areas of work was women in tertiary education.

The Committee is very much responsible for setting its own programme, but among its possible areas of work this year is work on contraception and abortion, rape and child-care facilities.

If you are interested in charing the Committee or even in just being a member of it please contact John Blincoe, President, NZUSA.
