Hurrah Jack

Hurrah Jack

Sirs,

I was bewildered by David Tan's callous and stupid press statement in Salient last week. Who, in the name of God, is David Tan anyway trying to pop his fat flat nose into other people's business. I sometimes wonder if the statement was actually written by him because I do not honestly think he has the guts or intelligence to do so. David Tan does not realise that he is only a puppet of Peter Wilson and his clique and that he is being subverted, not by communist ideology, but by ultra-radical left shit. You are being used and manipulated by them David boy, for their own selfish motives.

I wholeheartedly support Mr Jack De Silva for his statement. I consider it his duty as Malaysian High Commissioner in New Zealand to remind Malaysians, especially Malaysian students who are being corrupted by unwarranted external ideologies, of their rights and obligations as Malaysian citizens. Had Mr De Silva not done so he would have failed disastrously in discharging his duty for the larger interest of Malaysian people. Mr Jack De Silva should be knighted for his courageous and commendable action.

I challenge David Tan to issue another press statement deploring the action of Singapore government in suppressing freedom of individual in the Republis of Singapore. David Tan might not know that Singapore is an authoritarian government in disguise. The government has no political opposition to minimise the iron grip of the Singapore government in intimidating the people. Freedom of expression, even in fashion, is denied. Fashion conscious Singaporians would be persecuted if they keep long hair, or would face a humiliating police interrogation if they behave or dress like "hippies". It is a social crime to have more than three children in Singapore. Such are the extent of authoritarianism in the Republic of Singapore.

So if David Tan is so democratic about things, it would do him a hell of a lot of good to mind his own business and do something more positive to improve the political situation in his own country, instead of behaving like a cooking pot who calls a kettle black.
