Hell's Angels on Campus?

Hell's Angels on Campus?

Photo of two men on a motorcycle

Victoria has long had numerous motorcycles and a considerable number of fanatics, of one sort or another, who ride them. A few of these erstwhile enthusiasts have banded together and are now organizing some sort of club. It is envisaged that the club will provide such activities for members as weekend runs, sprints, time trials etc; assistance and co-operation for those who believe in "Do-it-Yourself" mechanics (a medium through which tools and workshop manuals may be borrowed) and also liason with other motorcycle fraternities. In addition to these, and certainly not superceded by the fore-mentioned activities, it is hoped that the club will contribute (largely!) to the social life of the University. "Bikies" however are of very independent mind and often of uncertain temper and it will therefore eventually depend on the masses as to how the club will develop.

Last week a display was held in the Union Foyer and some seventy-eight people (including a few birds) expressed interest. If anybody else would like information (and it doesn't matter what sort of bike you have) please ring Gerard 889.178 for more details.

Andy Wright says: "Easter Tournament is getting closer and teams had better start pulling their fingers out. Also, sports got $5,500 last year, (not $5,000 as was printed), and I'm hoping for $6000 this year."
