Cultural Clubs

Cultural Clubs

Any cultural clubs wanting grant this year are going to have to make sure that their presidents and treasurers make it to the Cultural Affairs AGM. Unless they're there, or hand in written apologies before the meeting, the club doesn't qualify for a grant this year. The AGM is tomorrow at 6.30 in the Board Room, and there are proposals to standardise all club accounting systems.

At the same time. Interim Cultural Affairs Officer Giles Brooker is looking for someone to take over the position of Cultural Affairs Treasurer: his main task will be to allocate the $6,000 grant to the various clubs.

Certain members of the Drama Club last night appeared before the exec to explain irregularities in their accounts, discovered when the club's annual accounts were presented for audit. Although Association Treasurer Dicky Greenfield declined to make any comment, it is believed that the Drama Club will be disaffiliated and it will be up to their AGM to form a new Drama Society. If the new office holders can then satisfy the exec of their financial responsibility the new Society will be reaffiliated as a cultural club.
