This race, the last of the VUW Harrier Club's internal competitive events was run over a tough course up Upland Road, over Tinakori Hill and back along old Karori Road.

First home was A. Jenkins, who off a handicap of 16 min. caught the limit men early in the race and never looked like being headed.

He beat I. Blyth by 2 minutes.

Blyth ran off course, as did several others in misreading street signs.

Fastest time was recorded by Bob Wilson who moved up through the field to finish eighth.

His time of 47 min. 35 sec. was a creditable performance considering the warm windy conditions.

Bullock, who seemed in a hurry to get to more congenial surroundings forfeited his chance of recording second fastest time by shortcutting through Karori Tunnel on the return journey.
