Worthwhile Venture

Victoria's entry into the local Rugby League competition this year for the first time, has, by all accounts, turned out to be a worthwhile and rewarding venture.

The team recently scored two impressive wins in the Senior Reserve grade.

It beat Miramar 35-21 and Waterside 41-14.

The team managed to score 18 tries despite considerable weight disadvantage.

Top points scorer so far is the full-back, W. "Nicholls, who has kicked 35 goals in eight matches. The strong running winger T. Smith is next with 13 tries.

An undoubted factor in the team's recent successes has been the capable forward leadership of G. Rasmussen ably assisted by the experienced half-back A. Ware.

Two club members, T. Smith and A. Ware were members of the Wellington under-21 representative team which recently humbled the top Sydney under-21 side, South Sydney, by 11 points to nil.
