The Joint Committee on Student Participation in the University took action at its first meeting.

A statement, released by the Chairman of the Committee, the Pro-Chancellor. Mr R. S. V. Simpson, said that in the course of discussions doubt was raised as to whether or not the Students' Association representative had full voting right on the Executive Committee of the Council.

"It was decided to recommend to Council that this matter be clarified by Council resolving that the Students' Association Representative did have full voting rights."
