1 p.m. Forum on the lawn outside Sub if fine, in the Common Room it wet.

1 p.m. Memorial Theatre. Cancar Society films on smoking.

5.30-7.30 p.m. Gym. Activities Room. Women's Outdoor Basketball AGM and first practice.

7.30 p.m. Men's Common Room. International Affairs Sub-Committee meeting.

8 p.m. Memorial Theatre Ngaio Revue "Fings ain't wot they used to be". Bookings at DIC. Student bookings enquire from Miss Clarkson. Stud. Ass. Office

Wednesday 20

9 a.m.-5 p.m. All day The Cancer Society will demonstrate tar extraction from cigarette smoke, in main foyer S.U.B.

8.20 a.m. Quiet Room. The NCC Chaplain will celebrate Holy Communion.

1-2 p.m. Memorial Theatre Pol. Sci. Soc. Mrs. W. Tirikatene Sullivan. MP for Southern Maori. will speak on "The Maori People and Political Change Everyone welcome. Questions from the floor welcomed.

1-2 p.m. RB 104. Mr. R. L. Fountain will speak on "The Man Who Claimed to be God". All warmly welcomed, EU.

1.10-2 p.m. Music Room. Hunter Building. Benefit concert for NZ Red Cross aid in Vietnam. Programme of electronic music by Gerhard and Lilburn. (Proceeds by cheque to Red Cross). Music Society.

5.30 p.m. Music Room Building. University Choir rehearsal. All welcome.

7.30 p.m. C6 Music Room, AGM Music Society. All welcome. Piano duo by Ian McDonald to be played. Supper afterwards.

7.30 p.m. Women's Common Room. Harrier Club AGM.

Thursday 21

12.30 p.m. Stage II Geography Lab. Geography Students' Society AGM.

1 p.m. Common Common Room Labour Party Club. Robin Bromby of the Sunday Times will speak on the Press and Politics. This is a good opportunity to question a top journalist on this topic and many others.

1.10 p.m. Music Room. Hunter Building Weekly music recital. Music by Dvorak and Busoni, performed by Zita Outrim, Margaret Neilsen, Frederick Page.

7 p.m. Executive Meeting. Exec. Room.

7.30 p.m. Common Common Room. Ski Club AGM. The NZ Olympic Skier Tom Huppert will speak on Winter Olympics (if he is available). Committee will be elected The new hut will be discussed in full. Future plans outlined. Supper.

7.30 p.m. Activities Room. Folk Club AGM.

8 p.m. Memorial Theatre "Fings aint wot they used to be". Ngaio Revue's musical.

Friday 22

7.30 p.m. Common Common Room. Labour Club AGM. The annual report on the activities of the Club will be presented, and the year's committee elected. If you have joined or want to join. come and play an active part. Party to follow.

Coming events

Wednesday 27 March. 7.45 p.m. at 34 Kelburn Parade. The VUW Philisophical Society AGM followed by "Paradox lost and Paradigms re-regained". Speaker: C. J. F. Parkin.

Appointments Board: Students seeking part-time or casual employment (i.e. non- Mr type) call at the Appointments Board Office, 6 Kelburn Parade, to register. As from Monday 18th March. no further notices of vacancies will appear on the noticeboards.

Accommodation Service: Improvements in standards of accommodation for university students depend on up-to-date statistics A number of students registered with the Accommodation Service have not yet advised the Accommodation Officer that they have found accommodation. The survey on the number of students obtaining their preferred type of accommodation depends on students registered with the Service reporting back when they have obtained accommodation. either through the Service or by other means.

If you registered with the Service and have not already advised the Service that you have found accommodation. please contact the Accommodation Officer.

Several students have reported thefts of personal property from campus cloakrooms. Students are reminded that it is in their own interest not to leave valuables and money in cloakrooms or outside lecture rooms.

The Health Department X- ray unit will be at the University in late April.
