Right Hon. Keith Holyoake(Prime Minister)—As a result of the inquiries I have made I understand that there are members of the Communist Party of New Zealand on the staff of New Zealand universities. Only one university student is a known member of the Communist Party, although it is known that a small number of students have close connections with the Communist Party. The term "Communist sympathiser" used by the questioner is a rather loose one and it would be unfair to attempt to generalise about Communist sympathisers at universities.
