What it Means to Join

What it Means to Join

the most important organisation in New Zealand

Tremendous variety of management positions, Responsibility, Rewards.

To the young cadet in the Public Service, administration and management training can mean two things. It can mean the tremendous interest of planning, organising, staffing, directing and co-ordinating important national activities, often unusual activities. These can be found in the Public Service, because there is a tremendous variety of departments. Management training can also mean responsibility with special importance. There is a need for people who wish to develop these skills in the Public Service because without doubt it is the most important organisation in New Zealand.

Starting as a cadet you receive a good and rapidly increasing salary. You gel assistance with study that helps you improve your qualifications — and your salary. The Public Service can offer opportunities in almost every city or town in New Zealand. There's superannuation too, sick leave benefits, welfare assistance and many other additional benefits.
