Trans-Tasman Art Festival

Under the sponsorship of the A.N.Z. Bank, a Trans-Tasman Art Competition will be held in August. It will be part of the Seventh New Zealand Universities Arts Festival, to be held at Victoria.

Prizes total £225, with a first prize of £100, and entry is open to members of Student Associations in Australia and New Zealand.

The closing date for entries is the 20th June. "We are expecting a good response," Arts Festival Controller, John Pettigrew, told Salient.

The judges are Mr. S. B. MacLennan, the Director of the National Art Gallery; Mr. R. J. Waghorn, a past President of the Association of New Zealand Art Associations; Mr. P. Olds. Instructor of Visual Arts at the Wellington Polytechnic; and Mr. W. H. Simon, the Chief Manager for New Zealand of the A.N.Z. Bank.
