Last month a second group of students attended a function at the Legation of the Soviet Union at Karori, organised by the V.U.W. International Club.
The Legation staff had gone to considerable trouble in organising the evening. The organised activities moved swiftly but there was ample time for open discussion with any of the English-speaking members of the Legation staff who were present.
The students were met by Mr Endokeev, First Secretary of the Legation who gave a brief talk mainly on industrial development of the U.S.S.R. His talk placed squarely before the students the remarkable Me achievements of the Soviet Union in recent years and its equally-striking plans for the future.
