Prologue

Two years ago an article appeared entitled 'Icelandic Wedding." telling of Tournament going-ons in Dunedin. Now n the paper anniversary let us look at Winter Tournament in Palmerston North. It is now six Tournaments since we did not have the Wooden Spoon and in Iceland it Is traditional that the Bride and Groom I be given a Wooden Spoon each on their wedding day . . .

As usual the Vic team cot to Tournament—Just. The Railways Department with true originality did not label the train Palmerston North, they labelled It "University Train." Has anyone heard that you can't beat a train in a car—well, that train did Wellington-Palmerston North in 2 hours 20 minutes including refreshments.
