The Physiology of Space Flight
For thousands of years the stars have been regarded by man as symbols of the eternity of the Universe and the infinity of space. People found their bearings by the stars, told their fortunes and everyone dreamt of living under a happy star. Such a star shone for everyone when the Russian-piloted Vostoks were sent into orbit. Titanic labour paved the way for these achievements and among numerous problems to be solved were those connected with the physiology of space flight.
