A Thing Of The Past

A Thing Of The Past

"Salient" 1960 is already a thing of the past—almost. There has been the odd highlight to relieve boring routine of a humdrum University life. (The suspension of the Editor excited a number of people—but not the Editor). There have been calls for a more vital "Salient," but … why worry about it now when surrounded with exams.! The Editor of '"Salient" has not written one editorial this year and is not going to start now (as readers of "The Dominion" and "Evening Post" will agree, they're a waste of time.) This does not mean that the Editor has not decided views of what a Student Newspaper should be—he has. These views will be written to a report, excerpts of which will be printed in the first issue of Salient '61.

Salient 1961. The editor, a reporter this year, will be B. T. March. He intends broadly speaking, to follow the lead given this year—with some exceptions. He intends to give a greater coverage to the Executive—this will please the Executive; there is nothing they like reading about so much as the exciting intrigues of the Executive.

Romas March is keen to get together a keen and, if possible, capable staff. He doesn't want to do all the work himself. (See advertisement on this page).
