World Affairs Council

It was put forward that the "aims of this society be for nuclear disarmament" and that the society should endeavour to "create a responsible awareness towards world problems." Suggestions of names for the society were called for, and among the names proposed were "International Relations Club," "Disarmament Club," "Society of Prevention of Cruelty to men" (!), "World Affairs Club," "World Affairs Society" and "World Affairs Council." Most favoured the last suggestion
