Tim Shirtcliffe
Tim entered VUC in 1953 and hopes to complete an M.Sc. soon. A keen member of the Miniature Rifle Club and a committee member of the Maths and Physics Society, Tim also finds time to supervise the Physics Department Photographic Club and regularly attends MPHMAT functions.
Apart from the academic side of a student's life Tim is of the opinion that a full university life depends on the clubs—both academic and sporting—and the functioning of these clubs in turn depends not only on the keenness of its members but also on its finances. In some circumstances the latter prevent the club being sufficiently useful as a part of college life. He considers that the whole question of club grants requires much consideration.
