Men's Basketball
Although some difficulty was experienced in "recruiting" a quorum, the AGM of the Men's Indoor Basketball Club finally got under way some twenty minutes after the advertised time of starting. The election of officers for 1955 resulted in the following appointments being made:—
- Patron: Mr. Alan Clark.
- Club Captain: Mr. John McKelvie.
- Vice Club Captain: Mr. Jim Lewis,
- Sec.-Trraaurrr: Mr. Peter Darracott.
- Records See.: Mr. Ralph Salt.
The main business of the meeting was to pass a motion to amend the VUCSA constitution to increase the maximum number of "Blues" for indoor basketball from five to eight. After some discussion, this motion was [unclear: passed unanimousy]. The value of [unclear: this] move was apparent last year when six players were good enough to earn a "Blue," but under the constitution only five could be awarded. It is to be hoped that the Exec, will see fit to accept this amendment as it is of great importance to the club.
