Welcome to Freshers
The Rev. P. Sutton, in his address to members of the VUC Student Christian Movement at their opening [unclear: might] held in the women's common room last week, stressed, the importance of the work the SCM is doing to bring the students of the worid together in Christian fellowship. He followed this up by saying that, through their common faith, Christian students throughout the world can and must find unity in these times of diversity. After his talk, the Rev. Sutton, himseif an Scmer, answered several topical questions put to him by the meeting. An enjoyable supper rounded off a very successful opening night.
An example of sports reporting—1904. "Wellington worked play down to Wairarapa line, and there the two teams swayed and kicked and struggled. Suddenly out of the ruck the body of Calnan flopped over the line holding the ball, but alas, the referee had whistled even as he flopped."
