Indoor Basketball

Since our last report the teams, especially the A's, have made great progress.

The A team, although faced with a loss against M.I.A. during the vacation, when three players were away, is still continuing to dispose of the stronger teams without much trouble. The team (resplendent in new uniforms) is settling down now to a steady combination with Murphy, Moral and Crewdsen going particularly well in the forwards, and the defence line—Piper, Anderson and Beecroft (with Piper and Beecroft working well together) proving a very strong "last line." This team has now mastered the "five-man" game and expects to be a hard force to beat, not only in local competitions but in the Tournament in August. Unfortunately the "star" centre. Murphy, is at present nursing a broken toe, but is expected on the court again soon.

Among the lower teams, who are notching wins here and there, Turner, O'Keefe, Hitching, Borthwick and O'Neill are showing up as likely to make their way to higher teams next year.

There are still vacancies for players, so remember: practices are on Sundays, 1.30-3 p.m. at the Sports Centre, and Wednesday 5-7 p.m. in the Varsity Gym.
