Salient. An Organ of Student Opinion at Victoria College, Wellington, N.Z. Vol. 2, No. 12. June 28, 1939

[Letters to the Dominion]

"Take the latest form of inquisition, the questions to be answered by applicants for sick benefits under the Social Security Act."

—"Dominion" Editorial. 3/6/39.

"An enemy will not come here without aircraft in numbers to outweigh our own. That means that every town will be reduced to bits of rubble, as were the munition-manufacturing towns of Spain. I have heard some of our best soldiers say that Barcelona and Madrid were not destroyed. That was sentiment. Guernica, which was important, was left without one brick on another. Wellington would be the same."
