Salient. An Organ of Student Opinion at Victoria College, Wellington, N.Z. Vol. 2, No. 4 March 29, 1939
The Glee Club had arranged a bargain evening last Wednesday—a singsong supper, and hop, all for threepence. Freshers round it difficult to master the old Extrav, tunes, and, with the exception of a benchful of executive's who had all come along apparently to [unclear: was] out notices, there were very few of the older members who should have helped things along.
However, the said freshers seemed to enjoy their struggles. It is to be hoped that the awful example of Commencement Dance, where for the earlier part of the evening there were approximately two charming girls for every man will not be followed with Training College like thoroughness.
